The rooms and common areas are spacious and decorated to make it feel like a home away from home. The entire home has been updated, keeping the nostalgic features of the 1950’s, but bringing a modern eclectic twist to the space. Vibrant colors throughout the house keep things interesting and cozy all at once.
There are three (3) private bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Enjoy the original (refinished) hardwood floors throughout, updated tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, LARGE fully equipped kitchen, ironing board, hair dryer, and extra blankets and pillows are available upon request. Towels will be provided. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all appliances and cookware that is robust enough to prepare all of your meals in-house. In the kitchen you’ll find that we have a waffle iron, blender, pizza pans, stock pot, cooking utensils and much more.
You’ll also find baby equipment including a pack and play, booster for the dining table and baby gates. The dedicated workspace has a desk and lamp and is located in the kitchen.
This property is unique because it has been updated yet we kept and refurbished some of the 1950s moldings and the original hardwood floors (refinished). The high ceilings and arched doorways give you a grand feeling in a beautiful and cozy place.
The covered patio is a guest favorite, with cozy seating and a great view of the peaceful tree lined neighborhood, perfect for sitting and enjoying hot chocolate in the winter or an ice cold tea in the summertime. Also, most of our guests simply say they don’t want to leave because it’s just…peaceful.

My mom and I work together to make sure your stay is successful. We like to meet our guests initially if possible, however self check-in is an option. We are always just a phone call away. You may contact either of us through the AirBnB app or on the cell phone number provided at check-in. Other than by your request, Its not likely you will see us during your stay.
The neighborhood was my first choice because it is near my old high school and many of the legacy owners I knew 25 years ago still own and live there. Most of the neighbors are older and well established, and they care about our neighborhood. The giant trees and massive sized yards give you a feeling of being in a more rural area, with the convenience of being near all of the conveniences and attractions that make Memphis great. Also, for shopping, entertainment, and dining we are only minutes from Southaven (DeSoto County) Mississippi which is a major plus for everything being in close proximity.
This home is within 6 miles of Memphis International airport, a 2 mile drive to/from Graceland, and less than 5 minutes from Southaven/Desoto County. Goodman Rd. and Church Rd. are within an 8 mile drive and can both be reached in no time. There you will find the Landers Center, Tanger Outlet Mall, the Southaven Town Center outdoor Mall, with a myriad of shoppes and restaurants. Downtown/Beale St. is a quick 15 min drive from the house, 20 minutes with significant traffic.
The best way to navigate Memphis is by Lyft or Uber. The airport has all of the major car rental places available of you choose to rent a car. With advance notice, we don’t mind giving you a ride to/from the airport depending on your arrival and departure times. Restrictions apply.
✅The home boasts a beautiful backyard that has an old barn and partially wooded area with a “walking trail” and lots of space to explore. Also, be careful, we have had reports of wild life back there like foxes, raccoons, and stray cats. Explore if you dare and at your own risk. 🙂
✅The neighborhood a very quiet and safe and the home is secured by the RING smart home security system and climate controlled by a wi-fi thermostat.
✅The outdoor space is still a work in progress. We have big plans to add a grill, sitting area and firepit in the back, more fencing, and much more. Please bear with us as we continue to improve upon this space for guests like you to enjoy.
VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ!
✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $37 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account – it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
✅3rd party bookings are not allowed without prior approval. Exceptions will be made for work groups needing to book through their home office. If you are local and want to book the house please message us first to discuss the purpose of your stay. If we are not clear, your listing will be canceled in order for us to stay in compliance with AirBnB policies. Honest communication is key.
